seems that i’ve been watching a lot of animated films lately. haha. it’s really hard to believe that this came out when i was in 6th grade. clearly, this movie has been a big part of my teenage years talking about where you belong and who you belong to.
more and more, this aims to be like classic disney, except it’s aliens, but i STILL think it’s done in such a clever way. referencing all of the things they should reference in an alien film. watching this film really made me remember what it was like to be lilo’s age. the things that ran through her little head, and the things that ran through my little head.
i don’t know how much more adorable this movie could have been. plus, i love how the accents sound authentic to me being from california. i can’t speak so much for the culture of how they’re portrayed or whatever, BUT, honestly, you spend a lot of time with alien & child. (just like in E.T.) sooooo .. not sure if there’s really much to judge on disney for that.
that being said. HEART this film. =) makes me happy.
that’s right. 10 movies. 2 days. 1500 words comparing Tangled to the rest of the princess movies.
conclusion: even though i found that Tangled is technically weaker than the princess movies on a genre level, it’s way more entertaining on a technically cinematic level. even though, it isn’t as musically catchy as Beauty and the Beast or The Little Mermaid, i have “I See the Light” on repeat one as I finish up these last 700 words.
also, Princess and the Frog really wasn’t as bad as everyone thought it was. i’m sorry they turned her into a frog, but it has my FAVORITE opening scene out of ALL the princess movies… i’m almost ashamed to say it made me cry this time around. hahah.
apparently, dancing is the only way to really fall in love & a kiss is the only way to express true love. so… there you go. thanks, disney. answering mysteries of life 24/7. (i really hope you guys sense the sarcasm of this paragraph)
awwwww =) made my heart smiiiile. but i get the feeling that disney isn’t that nice to pixar anymore… && i found a new respect for steve jobs since he’s the one who invested apple/macintosh money into pixar to begin with since lucas didn’t want them. && i can appreciate toy story WAY more now.. lol.
=) =) =) good film. happy artists —> happy mary =D
yeah. it was too a good ride. hahah. (means i really enjoyed this film) p.s. i kinda liked sam’s intro sequence. not gonna lie, if i knew a 27 year old who could do that … i would be extremely attracted to him. lol. p.p.s. jeff bridges did AMAZINGLY. lol. what a beast. && olivia wilde did well too … hoorah. lol.
